Welcome back!

We hope you enjoyed our summer newsletter. We received some great feedback, so please keep it coming. As Autumn approaches and the dark evenings draw in, this seasons issue looks at how we can all promote a eco-positive work environment. Being environmentally friendly is a hot topic and we are trying to instigate new green initiatives in our own office. Starting with eliminating all plastic bottles, using refillable cups, recycling plastic lids, cardboard and switching off the office lights to enjoy the natural daylight. Plus switching to recycled paper – including this newsletter. We want to encourage companies across the south, to incorporate new eco-positive initiatives, because every small change made, could have a long-term impact on the future of our environment. Feel free to share your eco-positive stories on our Facebook page, we’d love to hear what you’re doing!

DO YOU USE A PROTECTIVE MASK?

Anyone who works on a construction site or with any dusts should know about the risks to their health and why face fit testing your mask is so important.

Without a correctly fitted mask, you are at a higher risk of developing a dust-related disease such as Lung cancer, Silicosis, Chronic Pulmonary Disease and Asthma.

Face Fit Testing is a vital part of workplace health & safety, providing the best protection against the effects of hazardous materials. The test takes just 20-30 minutes and can be done on-site.

Call us to for more information or to book your test.

HOW CAN MY OFFICE BE ECO-FRIENDLIER

We all know the usual methods to help your workplace to be eco-friendlier, but here are a couple that you may not have thought of:

1. Plant Life

Deck out the office with greenery or encourage staff to bring in a desk plant to improve air quality, productivity, creativity and to bring a touch of nature into the office environment.

2. Eco-Friendly Pens

Using an environmentally friendly pen doesn’t have to be a sacrifice. In fact, you may even be using one already without realising it.

5. Sell, Donate and Titivate

It’s no secret that consuming vast amounts of energy is damaging our planet, so instead of throwing away your old office equipment and buying new, why not look at selling, donating and up-cycling it.

4. Branded Reusable Cups and Water Bottles

By providing staff and clients with reusable branded cups or water bottles, you can demonstrate your commitment to environmental sustainability, whilst promoting your product or services.

5. Encourage staff to use scrap paper

Don’t waste paper, use it for internal notes by giving each staff members a scrap paper box on their desk.

DID YOU KNOW WE ARE A CITB ATO

Many companies are unaware that they could be claiming grants and funding for training in their organisations, and assume they need to be a large company with a considerable annual turnover, but you don’t. We have been an ATO since 2018, meaning we successfully completed CITB’s approval process and we can help you claim your training grants. Training can be costly and these grants are essential contributory factor to keeping construction trades, supervisors and managers knowledgeable, compliant and safe. If you have a question, just give us a call.
