How many First Aiders do I need?
The exact number of first aiders required depends on;
- the size of your company
- location of the work being carried out
- the nature of your work, i.e. construction, manufacturing, office based
- low or high-risk factors
There is no correct or incorrect answer or specific legislation in place.
In order to establish what provision for First Aid is required, you should assess the above factors.
The HSE recommends that there should be at least one First Aid trained person in a company of 5-50 employees.
